Online Choir projects

Whilst the choir has not been able to meet and sing together physically for several months now, we were set the enjoyable challenge of recording ourselves singing at home by our great M.D. Alex. These videos and audio recordings are now being compiled and put together and we hope to share with you our special recording very soon. The photo we have chosen may give you a clue to the piece of music!

First Rehearsal of 2020

Our first rehearsal of 2020 will be on Sunday 12th January 7.30 at Church House opposite St James the Great. We look forward to beginning this term with our new Musical Director Alex. If you are interested in finding out more about the choir, then please do feel free to come along as we will be starting the New Year looking at fresh pieces of music.

Christmas Concert CANCELLED

Due to unforeseen circumstances please note that our Christmas Concert which was scheduled for Saturday 14th December has been CANCELLED. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause, but we hope to be able to share news of our 2020 concert plans very soon.

Tribute Concert in memory of our former Accompanist Mark Arstall

Regular audience members at our concerts will no doubt remember our amazingly talented late Accompanist Mark Arstall who accompanied us so beautifully and faithfully for 6 years. Many of you will also remember the excellent violin solos he treated us all to at our concerts as well. We still miss Mark immensely, but we are delighted to have been invited to take part in a Memorial Concert on Saturday 26th October, 2.30pm at Hall Green United Community Church on Reddings Lane, B28 8TE. This concert will celebrate Mark’s contribution to many music groups and individuals across Birmingham and elsewhere. Admission is free, but proceeds from a retiring collection will go to support Help Musicians UK. We were incredibly fortunate as so many were to benefit from Mark’s dedication and musical skill, so we would love to see you there.

Donations from our ‘Lost in Music Concert’

At our last rehearsal before the summer break we were delighted to present the The Lily Mae Foundation with a cheque for £237.50 following our Summer concert ‘Lost in Music’ last month. A huge thank you again to all those who donated so generously on the day of the concert. We are very pleased to learn that the money raised will help to provide 3 families with a memory box following the loss of their baby. You can read more about the work of the charity here:

As a choir we are extremely proud that our concerts support local causes and charities.

‘Lost in Music’ Summer Concert: Thank you!

Thank you everyone who came along to our concert last night. The sun even put in an appearance! A huge thank you to the choir for all their hard work in preparing for the concert, and to our fabulous soloists Liz, Vicky, Sarah, Richard, Louis, Sue and Shirley. Also thank you to our terrific accompanist Ruth at her first concert with us, for accompanying us so well and playing her own solo so beautifully. Thank you also to our Fellowship Singers committee who work so hard in a voluntary capacity behind the scenes throughout the year to ensure everything runs as it should. And a massive well done and thank you to Rosie our fantastic Musical Director who was back conducting us for this concert and ensured the evening went smoothly.
We were extremely proud to be supporting The Lily Mae Foundation for this concert, and many thanks to Ryan who spoke so eloquently about his family’s own experience and shared with us such an important issue. To read about the work of this charity please follow this link to their website:
